The 7th Edition of The Brazil NetWork Day (BND)
in Rotterdam was successful
The BND Rotterdam was organized in the Beurs-World Trade Center in partnership with Rotterdam Partners/City of Rotterdam. The event started (14:00 hrs) with a seminar (“Driving Innovation in the Brazil–Netherlands Corridor”) which was led by the Dutch Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (DUTCHAM) in cooperation with KPMG, Rabobank, Orangefield Group and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.NL). During the seminar – which dealt with questions related to innovation and sustainability in Brazil –, were also presented the (3) winners of the Sustainability Awards 2014, an initiative launched by DUTCHAM. The first prize went to the work done by the Dutch NGO ICCO in Brazil, referring to a project in Belém, State of Pará, coordinated by the Dutch entrepreneur Jan Boone (Einkstein Group) devoted to recycling of the production waste of açaí pulp.
The BND Business Cocktail was opened (18:00 hrs) by Ambassador of Brazil, Mr. Piragibe S. Tarragô, and by the Mayor of Rotterdam, Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb. Among other talking points, both of them addressed the importance of the trade and investments flows between Brazil and Rotterdam, the outcome of the Presidential elections in Brazil (according to Aboutaleb “a fine example of democratic exercise”), and the growing number of Brazilian companies establishing their operations in Rotterdam. Pleased for hosting BND for the second time in Rotterdam, the Mayor also praised the partnership between the “Port of Rotterdam” and “Porto Central de President Kennedy”, in the State of Espírito Santo/Brazil, and for the renewed participation of the municipality of São Paulo in the next “International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam”. The BND Rotterdam also hosted a venissage of two Brazilian painters: Bruno Pedrosa (http://www.brunopedrosa.com) and Julia Baptista (http://juliadossantosbaptista.com).
By gathering more than 500 guests, BND offered a relax setting for professional networking between entrepreneurs (doing or considering doing) business or investing in the Brazil-Netherlands corridor of opportunities.
Following a tradition of BND, in every event we giveway flight-tickets (to Brazil) among the BND participants. We congratulate the three lucky winners of BND Rotterdam: Ms. Stephanie Lermen Mendonça (Bierens Incasso Advocaten), Ms. Petra Horsch (Sapa Pana Travel) and Mr. Edgar Pires (Intertrust Group).
By thanking all the sponsors and guests of BND Rotterdam, the Embassy of Brazil in The Hague gladly announces that next BND will take place in Amsterdam. Date, location and program will be disclosed soon via www.BrazilNetworkDay.nl.
